UPDATE: #TRINYEAR5 has been postponed to a later date this year to adhere to the national directive of suspending public events and mass gatherings to prevent COVID-19 local transmission. We will announce the new date once authorities advise that it is safe to do so.
Read our official statement here, which includes instructions on how to refund your tickets or keep them for the rescheduled date.
As part of its year-long string of music events and new projects, we will be celebrating our five years in the independent music community with a special music event on April 4, 2020 at 123 Block, Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City.
This year’s anniversary show will pay tribute to landmark Filipino albums that will turn 15 this year: Dicta License’s incisive socio-political commentary, Paghilom; Pedicab’s classic debut release, Tugish Takish; and Orange and Lemons’s pop crossover, Strike Whilst The Iron Is Hot. The iconic music acts involved in the project will be delivering a special 15th anniversary set of their critically acclaimed records, exclusively for The Rest Is Noise’s upcoming 5th anniversary.
The show will also feature performances from All of the Noise 2019 alum M1LDL1FE from Singapore, as well as other Filipino music acts including indie rock band Ang Bandang Shirley, hip-hop artist and producer NINNO, indie rock quartet She’s Only Sixteen, up-and-coming experimental electronic producer, Teya Logos, and instrumental rock band tide/edit.
Tickets are now on sale exclusively at our website. Limited pre-sale tickets are priced at PHP350 and will be sold until March 16 or until supplies last; regular tickets are priced at PHP450 and will also be sold in-store via Linya-Linya’s SM Megamall branch from March 17 until April 2. Limited tickets will be sold on the day at the venue for PHP500.
“The last five years of The Rest Is Noise has been mind-blowing for us. One of the most enduring foundations of our longevity, in my opinion, is how the community has always been at the center of what we do, which ultimately guides us in our pursuits. We’ve managed to not only build this strong, local connections, but also become a part of the regional and global music communities that share our ideals and vision geared towards celebrating the creative, independent spirit,” says co-founder Mary Christine Galang.
“Our fifth anniversary will also serve as an homage to the envelope-pushing releases of the past, and in our own little way, an opportunity for our young audience to discover these groundbreaking gems through a conceptual live music experience—intimate in its presentation, but in-your-face in terms of delivery,” shares co-founder Ian Urrutia.
“Singapore-based indie rock outfit M1LDL1FE will also return to the Philippine stage for the second year in a row, and as an added surprise, genre-defining producer Teya will mark her TRIN debut at this year’s celebration. What an exciting time to be involved in producing shows that break barriers and gather like-minded spirits in the name of solidarity, community building and music,” he adds.
